OREANDA-NEWS. August 10, 2011. In November, transport and logistics experts will gather in Astana.

The 8th TransEurasia international conference and TranzitKazahstan international exhibition will take place on 10-12 November in Astana’s Independence Palace. The title of the conference, which is being organised by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport and Communications is “TransEurasia: Transit. Business. Logistics”.

The alternate organisation of the event in Almaty and Astana provides more complete territorial coverage of national exhibitors and visitors. Each year, the event presents about 100 companies from 11-14 countries. The exhibition sectors cover every aspects of the transport industry. The list of exhibitors from Kazakhstan includes major companies working in the field of transportation and logistics, as well as national and state-owned business in Kazakhstan representing the entire transport infrastructure of the country.

Announcing the move of TransEurasia 2011 and TransitKazakhstan 2011 from September to November, Azat Bekturov, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan, said: “The conference will include the 31st session of the Coordinating Transport Meeting of the CIS, and Silk Road 2011, the 1st International Forum for Transport and Logistics. The conference is due to be attended by transport department delegations from Europe, Asia, the CIS and Baltic states; international and regional organisations; financial institutions; and major transport companies from around the world.”

Transport, along with other infrastructure sectors, is an essential component for the everyday activities of society and development of the national economy. Such events provide an opportunity to broadly discuss ways to further improve transport infrastructure in Eurasia, and to build and strengthen existing relationships with partners, regular customers and suppliers.

Last year, TransitKazakhstan was visited by 2880 industry professionals: 89% of them local and 11% foreign. The event is organised by two Kazakhstani companies, Atakent-Expo and Iteca, as well as their international partner ITE Group (UK).
