Rostelecom-Siberia showed new version of Public Service Web Portal at address http://epgu.gosuslugi.ru/pgu/ at the 3rd Baikal International Information Forum (BIF-2011) which was held in Ulan–Ude. The version will make it possible for citizens and organizations to obtain public services from government bodies of municipal, regional and federal levels electronically. 

The new portal version is a universal flexible platform to obtain public services in electronic form from any device connected to the Internet – personal computer, palmtop computer, tablet computer and smart phone including touch screen devices. Those who don’t their own electronic devices to access Internet, can use public info-communication terminal – infomat.

‘The advantage of the new portal version is more user-friendly interface utterly simplifying the procedure of obtaining public services electronically—said Maxim Kudryavtsev, Vice President and Director of Siberia macro-regional branch of Rostelecom OJSC, -‘ Another important advantage of the new web portal version is an opportunity to effect required electronic payments transparently and flexibly.’ 

The first Public Service Portal version (www.gosuslugi.ru) was launched on December 15 2009 and became one of key elements for developing e-Government project in Russia. From the date of the web portal launch the number of entries exceeded 70 million.

80 million entries and 2 million applications for obtaining services have been registered at the Public Service Web Portal over the past 2010. At the moment nearly 1 million users enabled the web portal’s Member Area.

The most popular services sought after by the portal users are information requests on: fines for traffic violation, state of personal account in the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation and issue of foreign passports for RF citizens who have reached the age of 18.

In accordance with the regulations of the RF Government Rostelecom is the only organizer of events under Information Society 2011-2010 Federal target program as related to the development of e-Government infrastructure and foundation of the Russian national platform for cloudy computing.

The company’s own infrastructure - protected communication channels, data processing centers  etc. alongside with experience in carrying out large national projects enable the company to solve the problem successfully both on the federal and regional levels.
