OREANDA-NEWS. August 12, 2011. Tata Power, India's largest private power utility, celebrated the second anniversary of the commercial operation date (COD) of its Haldia power plant. The first unit was commissioned in August 2009. The employees of Tata Power Haldia power plant organised a special evening ’Haldia Aikataan 2011’ to celebrate the occasion. The evening was titled ’Aikataan’ which means ‘chorus / voices of the group’ in Bengali and reiterates the belief of Tata Power employees in teamwork.

The employees and their family members participated enthusiastically in the celebrations. The evening started with the welcoming of the guests (Sador Baran) followed by fun-filled entertainment acts — singing, dance performances and a play. The ladies club of Haldia division put forth a beautiful musical performance. The dance and the recitation by the employees’ children were highly appreciated and applauded by the audience.

The added attraction of ‘Haldia Aikataan 2011’ was the play, Parinaam, written, directed and enacted by the officers of the division. The celebrations concluded with a reward and recognition ceremony for employees and their family members to recognise their participation in different programmes throughout the year.

Speaking on this occasion, Vijayant Ranjan, station head, Haldia division, said, “The second anniversary of the Haldia division is an extremely proud moment for us and is a milestone achievement. I am happy to see the participation of the Haldia team and their family members to celebrate this occasion. The fervour with which the team organised the evening was electrifying.
