OREANDA-NEWS. August 12, 2011. KIOGE, the and Conference, is almost the same age as independent Kazakhstan.

This annual event will take place in October for the nineteenth time. Today, KIOGE is an effective communication platform for leading players in the market, and each year brings together hundreds of companies and tens of thousands of industry professionals.

“In the first years of Kazakhstan’s independence, KIOGE was created as a specialised platform for sharing experiences, addressing pressing industry issues, and facilitating meetings between manufacturers, consumers and investors. As time has shown, these goals have been achieved – KIOGE has become a necessary event for the development of oil and gas industry, and the scale and high profile of the event is a result of the joint activity of the state authorities, national companies, exhibitors and organisers,” says Sauat Mynbayev, Minister of Oil and Gas of Kazakhstan, in a letter to the participants of KIOGE 2011.

Like last year, KIOGE 2011 will continue the dialogue initiated at the VI KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum (4-5 October, Independence Palace, Astana). The KIOGE exhibition will bring together about 500 companies from 30 countries, and will be held on 5-8 October in the pavilions of the Atakent Exhibition Centre in Almaty. Previous years allow us to predict that this year KIOGE will be attended by more than 15,000 oil and gas industry professionals. At the exhibition national stands will be presented by countries such as Germany, Italy, Canada, China, Russia and France. Among the regular exhibitors are such giants of the oil and gas industry as Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas company, KazMunayGas; the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR); and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

The KIOGE conference (6-7 October, InterContinental, Almaty) will be attended by over 1000 delegates. The plenary session of the conference will be devoted to the 100th anniversary of commercial oil production in Kazakhstan. Papers will be presented by representatives of government and business structures in Kazakhstan, the European Commission, and by experts from the UK, USA, Russia, Netherlands and other countries. During the conference, CEOs from 40 companies will give their views on various industry issues. The following technical aspects will be discussed: current projects in the Caspian Sea, the transportation of Kazakhstan’s oil and gas, local content, taxation and legislation, health and safety, environmental protection, disaster prevention and much more.

KIOGE is organised by Iteca (Kazakhstan) and ITE Group plc (UK), together with partners from Russia, Germany, Turkey, China and the UAE. Information on the website www.kioge.kz is regularly updated.
