OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2011. During a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan, the governmental delegation of the Republic of Turkmenistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Nazarguly Shagulyev visited OJSC KAMAZ.

The meeting was held as a result of successful negotiations recently conducted by Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, with Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan. Then, the head of the state said that, counting on advanced scientific achievements and innovation technologies, Turkmenistan was interested in acquisition of up-to-date high-tech vehicles adapted to local climatic conditions from OJSC KAMAZ which has broad experience in automobile production.

The main purpose of this visit to KAMAZ is to conduct talks on long-term cooperation. Besides the representatives of the government departments, the delegation also included Sergey Tkachenko and Artur Murashkin, managers of FTC KAMAZ Corp., a subsidiary of ZAO Foreign Trade Company KAMAZ, which promotes the KAMAZ brand on the market of Turkmenistan selling trucks and spare parts there.

The first facility visited by the delegation was a KAMAZ gas service center of RariTEK – a partner of KAMAZ – which produces CNG equipment for KAMAZ trucks and NEFAZ passenger buses using compressed natural gas as fuel and services this equipment. A heightened interest in KAMAZ vehicles running on methane is first of all conditioned by the fact that Turkmenistan is one of the largest "gas" powers and ranks fourth in the world in terms of explored reserves of natural gas. With a great interest, the guests saw KAMAZ`s innovative product, gas engine feed system, model range. They were shown a mobile service center and a functional mobile vehicle gas refueling station from LLC  Gazprom transgaz Ekaterinburg.

The guests visited some important facilities of KAMAZ, the Research and Development Center of OJSC KAMAZ, where they were demonstrated motor vehicles for different purposes – military, communal, fire-fighting, road-building machinery. The visit program also included a visit to a subsidiary of KAMAZ – ZAO Chelnyvodokanal where the guests saw a central control room.

After the visit to KAMAZ, the delegation continued working according to a program of Tatarstan’s Cabinet of Ministers. Akhat Urmanov, Deputy Chairman of OJSC KAMAZ; Evgeny Pronin, Deputy Director General – Director of Sales and Service; Anatoly Samarenkin, Deputy Director General – Director of KAMAZ’s representative office in Kazan, accompanied the delegation there.
