OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2011. During the first half of 2011 ASKA insurance company collected insurance premiums of UAH 170.6m, including UAH 130.1m in voluntary insurance products and UAH 36,5m in compulsory insurance programmes. The premiums grew by 20%, or by UAH 28.5m year-on-year.

The claims paid out in the same period made UAH 56.4m, including UAH 44.2m in voluntary insurance products and UAH 12.2m in compulsory insurance programmes. In H1 2010 the company paid UAH 57.2m in claims, a fact that represents a slender drop of 1.4% in insurance claim payments.

In the period under review ASKA settled 22,995 claims.

In the first half of 2011 ASKA's claim payment rate was 33% (vs. 40% in H1 2010).

As at 1 July 2011 the insurance reserves totalled record UAH 188m, 23.4% above 2010 first half.

In the period under review the company concluded some 103,000 agreements.

Property insurance, voluntary medical insurance, motor third-party liability insurance and hull coverage account for the biggest share in the company's insurance portfolio.

As a socially responsible business, ASKA rigorously follows the CSR principles. To ASKA social responsibility means, among other things, fulfilment of legal commitments to the State as well as timely and transparent payment of taxes.

In H1 2011 ASKA paid UAH 7.9m in taxes, including UAH 4.6m in profit tax and UAH 3.2m in other taxes.

Over the period ASKA earned over UAH 170m, which means that one in every twenty hryvnias was paid to the budgets.
