OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2011. The Government will study and make necessary decisions to make the Ukrainian books free for use for readers. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov declared this at solemn opening of VII Kyiv international book exhibition-fair.

The Prime Minister emphasized that first of all it is necessary to take measures for progress of system of book commerce which now, according to publishers, slows down progress of book branch and establishes extremely high unreasonable prices which for publishers reduce sales and circulations, and unreasonable prices are made books dear and inaccessible for a part of buyers. Therefore the Prime Minister set the task: to take necessary measures, to make the Ukrainian book available for readers.

Mykola Azarov emphasized that domestic publishers print qualitative books which are recognized in the world. He gave an example the book which he got at an exhibition ("the Petersburg stories". Gogol) has received the first during independence of Ukraine of Grand prix at the international book competition.

Also, as he said winning of other many books at different competitions testifies about quality of the Ukrainian book, and the Ukrainian book is in demand in the market of books.
