OREANDA-NEWS. August 18, 2011. The industrialization of the core technologies of Baosteel Rotary Drum Slag Treatment (BSSF) Device keeps accelerating. Recently Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group Co., Ltd. signed the contract with South Korea's Chaoen Development Co., to supply the 3rd set of BSSF equipment to be installed in POSCO's Gwangyang Heavy Plate Mill, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

Since 1990s, Baosteel started to commit itself to the R&D of steel-making BSSF technologies. So far, the generation 4 BSSF equipment has been developed successfully. Two years ago, Baosteel Engineering cooperated with South Korea's Chaoen Development Co. for the first time and received the contract to export 2 sets of generation 4 BSSF equipment to POSCO's No.2 Steelworks.

During the execution of the project, with the principles of expanding the influence of Baosteel's technology brand and serving the owner well, the project team coordinated efficiently for equipment design, manufacture, delivery, on-site installation and commissioning, which ensured the time schedule and quality of the project and won high opinions from the customer. Now the 2 sets of BSSF equipment that have been put into operation are in stable operation and various technical indicators have all reached the requirements of international standard, enabling POSCO to realize "clean, resource and short process" slag treatment. Meanwhile, it also laid the foundation for the smooth export of the 3rd set of BSSF device.

Based on the favorable cooperation for the previous two sets of equipment, the time of commercial negotiation for the 3rd set of BSSF device was shortened greatly. After the contract was signed, the Engineering Technology Business Unit of Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group Co., Ltd. assigned picked forces to set up the project team and go all out to carry out the work of project execution, so as to supply high standard equipment to the customer as scheduled.
