OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2011. On August 11, SOCAR Vice-resident on Ecology Rafiga Huseynzadeh paid a visit to London. Within the visit, Ms. Huseynzadeh met with BP's director for the London-2012 International Olympic Program, Seve Kyriacou. They discussed BP’s support for Azerbaijani athletes during London-2012 Olympic Games. Mr. Kyriacou stated that BP would provide 4,000 transport facilities for service of the Olympic competitors. He also offered to reduce the harmful gas emission into atmosphere and prepare calculation method of gas emissions. The proposal was adopted and the presentation was decided to be held in the first half of September, in Baku or London. The meeting was attended by Vice-president of National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzadeh and Director of SOCAR’s representative in Great Britain Rufat Afandiev. On August 12, Rafiga Huseynzadeh met with Austin Hayes, HSE Manager at BP. Presentation of “Shahdeniz-2” project on ecological issues was held at the meeting. Important technical issues were discussed at the meeting. The second stage of discussions are planned to be held at the end of September, in BP-Azerbaijan Company’s Office.
