OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2011. KAMAZ took the lead having increased its share up to 45 percent on the Ukrainian market of trucks with a payload of over 16 tons in July.

According to AUTO-Consulting Information-Analytical Group, having sold 247 vehicles in July, the Russian automaker took 44.67% of the Ukrainian market in the segment of heavy trucks. Moreover, KAMAZ pressed its competitors in the sector of trucks with a carrying capacity of 8-16 tons, in which it took 42.86% at the end of July.

The main models which are popular in Ukraine are still agricultural trucks KAMAZ-45142, KAMAZ-45143, and KAMAZ-45144. In July, they took 39.24% of the whole Ukrainian market of trucks with a payload of over 16 tons. These models are chosen by Ukrainian agricultural holdings and farmers who usually actively buy vehicles in summer. In July, customers also bought high-sided trucks KAMAZ-53215 and KAMAZ-65117, heavy trucks KAMAZ-65115 and KAMAZ-6520, KAMAZ chassis on which Ukrainian plants produce special equipment.

In general, 7 months of 2011 have seen steady growth in sales of KAMAZ vehicles on the Ukrainian market. 554 cars were sold in the segment of trucks with GVW of over 16 tons in January-July 2011, which is by 43.9% more than during the same period of 2010. With a share of 35 percent, KAMAZ is the leader in this segment.

For the last 7 months of 2011, KAMAZ has sold by 45% more vehicles than for the same period of 2010 in the segment of trucks with a GVW of 8-16 tons. The share of the Russian company in the segment of medium-duty trucks is more than 20%, according to the results of 7 months.
