OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2011. As part of the program to install GPS/GLONASS monitoring system for special vehicles for quick response in preventing emergency situations all vehicles of Kurskenergo is connected to Transport Navigation System.  This work was done according to Headquarters requirement for power supply reliability of electric energy consumers of the Kursk region Administration in close cooperation with regional department EMERCOM of Russia.  The installation of special vehicles with satellite navigation system was started back in 2009. Above 12 million roubles were spent on the entire project.

The main advantage of the system is the functionality effectively to monitor emergency situations over the territory of 7 000 square kilometers of Kursk region on one computer monitor.  The satellite- monitor system allows displaying the location of vehicles in interactive mode with travel route of each vehicle.

For today all personnel of mechanization and transport department of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division was trained for work with “AutoTracker” system in the nearest time is going to commission the navigation system.

“Operating on the principle of car GPS navigation, the system performs 24/7 GPS monitoring of vehicles.  The satellite system tracking allows coordination of actions of operation staff of Kurskenergo, - says Oleg Galushkin, deputy head of mechanization and transport service of IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division.  - When emergency situations appear GPS navigation allows fast response and timely taking decisions with the most accurate data“.
