OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2011. An Olympic project called Sochi Drive starts in Moscow. The goal of this joint initiative between VOLKSWAGEN Group Rus and Sochi 2014 Steering Committee is to promote Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi. This project will continue for three years in main cities of Russia’s European part.

As the Partner of Sochi XXII Winter Olympic Games and XI Winter Paralympic Games 2014, the Partner of Russian Olympic and Paralympic Committees and the Partner of Olympic and Paralympic national teams in the Insurance category, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company actively supports cultural events that promote Olympic movement and its ideals. The company mobilizes all its resources to ensure that 2014 Games are held at the highest level and strengthen Russia's prestige in the eyes of international community. The company also supports other Olympic partners in this respect. Sochi Drive is no exception. Organizers’ third-party liability is insured by Ingosstrakh Insurance Company for the amount of EUR 1 million for each of 15 events in 14 cities of the Russian Federation. Travel, cargo, transportation risk and motor insurance are also provided.

Sochi Drive will travel from city to city during summer months of 2011, 2012 and 2013, and will cover 14 Russian cities within 3 years. The project will end with a grand final in Sochi. In addition to Moscow, the program for 2011 will include 4 cities - Nizhniy Novgorod, Samara, Volgograd and Krasnodar.

Sochi Drive includes various entertainment and educational events - sports shows, concerts by the Russian singer stars, Olympic exhibitions and sports simulator trainings. Figure-skaters, hockeyists and curling masters will show their skills at a covered skating rink, and snowboarders will demonstrate their stunts on a ramp with special coating. Popular groups Serebro and Assai will also make a show in Moscow.
