OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2011. Anhui province's annual green food output will mount to 8.5 million tonnes worth  46 billion yuan (USD 7.1 billion) by 2015, up 42 percent and 260 percent from 2010, respectively, as the province will hike the number of ecological food enterprises to 550 units producing 1,800 varieties of green food in at least 26 million mu of growing areas, according to an industrial blueprint for the 12th Five-year Plan (2011-2015) period issued recently.

During the upcoming five years, 15 standard manufacturing bases for raw materials of which green food is made are expected to be established across the province. Furthermore, some of the bases will introduce a quality tracking system to ensure food safety, the plan said.

Also, the province will increase the proportion of green food exports in agricultural product exports year by year. The annual export value of ecological food reached 500 billion US dollars on average over the 11th Five-Year Plan(2006-2010) period.
