OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2011. The visitors accompanied by Mr.F.Gilmanov, OJSC TANECO Chief Process Engineer, looked around CDU-VDU, Sulphur Recovery unit and Central Control Room of the Complex. Tatneftegaspererabotka specialists’ visit to TANECO was not only a study-trip but also it was a good chance to exchange experiences. OJSC TANECO was selected as the best place to visit where advanced technologies and state-of-the-art foreign and domestic equipment are applied.

Specialists of Tatneftegaspererabotka who are involved in collecting, transporting, accepting and refining petroleum gas and broad fraction of light hydrocarbons showed a keen interest to the activities of Nizhnekamsk colleagues and some specific features of equipment installed at the site. The attention was mostly directed to CDU-VDU with a technical capability to refine high-sulphur Carbonic and Devonian crude oil or their blends in any ratio, Demineralization and Dehydration three-tier System where static mixers are applied to ensure the best layering of the crude oil and water in dehydrators.

Members of the delegation placed a very high value on some design solutions made in Oil Refining and Petrochemical Complex such as recovery of sulphur from the raw product at the level of 99%, multi-functionality of racks, compactness and environmental friendliness of flare units. Issues concerning the Environment were repeatedly raised during the tour. Farid Gilmanov, OJSC TANECO Chief Process Engineer, and Goulsira Volodina, Specialist of Environment Protection Department, were ready to answer the questions.

Guests were highly impressed by the Central Control Room of OJSC TANECO. According to Midekhat Aminov, Chief Engineer of Tatneftegaspererabotka, the central control room is the clear evidence that the worldwide accepted design solutions are applied in the Complex. Specialists saw the true value of the automated remote control of the operating units as well as equipment to be installed within the following steps of the Project.

At the end of the visit Mr. Aminov noted that the tour proved to be successful and productive. For the specialists representing more than 20 Divisions of the Company it was very valuable to learn how the operating procedures, industrial safety and landscaping are ensured.

The general opinion about OJSC TANECO presented by Rashit Salikhov, Maintenance Foreman of Tatneftegaspererabotka, was the following: “We are often kept informed about TANECO by means of Mass Media, but in this case we had to explore it first in order to adequately evaluate the scale and feasibility of the Project”.
