OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2011. NALCO Foundation, the CSR arm of Navratna PSU NALCO, in collaboration with Orissa State Poultry Products Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited (OPOLFED) has launched a backyard poultry programme in the peripheral villages of Angul. In the first phase, through this programme 80 beneficiaries of NALCO’s Utkal-E Coal Project area will be trained, in four batches. In the 3-day inaugural programme, 20 beneficiaries of Nandichhod village participated, out of which 15 were women. While NALCO Foundation sponsored the programme, the training and technical support were provided by OPOLFED.

In the closing ceremony yesterday, Shri Devaraj Senapati, ADM, Angul and Shri P.R. Choudhury, Executive Director (S&P) of NALCO, handed over 20 Banaraja chicks to each participant, besides chick feed, medicines and caging materials.  Dr P.K. Biswal, GM, OPOLFED and Ms Shabana Parween, Project Manager, NALCO Foundation coordinated the programme.

Others present on the occasion include Shri Soumya Patnaik, GM (Utkal-E Coal Block Project), DGMs Shri G.S. Mohapatra, Shri L.M. Sahoo and Manager Shri Mani Patnaik from NALCO. Dr S. N. Pattanaik, CDVO, Angul, Dr R. C. Mishra, Ex-CDVO, Dr Bharat Pradhan, Dr Srinivas Sahoo, Dr R.M. Narendra, Dr B.K. Parida, Dr P.K. Singh and other experts imparted training to the beneficiaries.
