OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2011. Stroytransgaz has started the construction of the 500 kV Yenisey substation with 500 kV HV and 220 kV HV branch lines. The 500 kV Yenisey substation is located in the central part of the Krasnoyarsk Krai and is maintained by the Krasnoyarsk Power Grid Company, a branch of JSC FGC UES. The project aims to enhance the reliability of power supply in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and to ensure the growing needs in power supply of industrial facilities, including iron and steel plants.

In April 2011 Stroytransgaz concluded a contract with JSC FGC UES for the greenfield construction of the 500 kV Yenisey substation with 500 kV HV and 220 kV HV branch lines for the amount of 9.47 billion RUR. The works comprise the construction of more than 30 km of 10 kV, 220 kV, and 500 kV HV lines, and putting into operation 1,602 MVA of transformer capacity as follows:
the construction of a 500 kV outdoor switchgear
the construction of a 220 kV outdoor switchgear
a parking house construction
a support building construction
a warehouse construction
a substation control building construction
a relay panel building construction
the construction of  500 kV HV branch lines
the construction of 220 kV HV branch lines
the construction of 10 kV HV lines
upgrading of 110 kV and 220 kV HV lines
installation of seven phases of AT 500/220/10 kV (one standby phase) of 1602 MVA (6*267 MVA) total capacity

Since 2011 to 2014 the 500 kV Yenisey substation is planned to be integrated into the unified power grid by two stages. At present survey operations have been carried out at the site. In September 2011 topsoil excavation and land grading will be executed.
