OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2011. The approaches to expanding further fruitful Turkmen-Chinese cooperation were put on the agenda of the meetings held with the members of the high-level delegation of the People’s Republic of China led by Qiang Liu, Vice-president of the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST).

A focus of an exchange of views was the prospects for strengthening bilateral partnership between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China in such priority spheres as information and communication technologies, science and education. It was noted that an important aspect of the policy of the Turkmen state pursued under the leadership of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was innovative development and wide application of scientific and technical advances in industry. In this context it was underlined that vast opportunities were opened up in the new historical epoch to enhance between Turkmenistan and leading research centres all over the world, including Chinese partners.

Vice-president of the China Academy of Space Technology Mr. Qiang Liu emphasized that the Government of the People’s Republic of China took significant steps to promote multifaceted and promising Turkmen-Chinese collaboration and expressed the willingness to collaborate on implementing the national projects for modernization of communication and telecommunication networks and the scientific and technology sectors initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Mr. Qiang Liu said that the Academy stood ready to offer its profound expertise in the sphere of innovative technologies and provide assistance in training specialists to Turkmen partners.

Focusing with satisfaction on high dynamics of Turkmen-Chinese relations based on the firm ties of friendship and mutual goodwill, equality and mutual benefit, the meeting participants called for intensifying fruitful cooperation meeting national interests and development priorities of the two friendly countries.

During the visit to Ashgabat the Chinese delegation held a number of meetings at the Turkmen ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Communication and the Academy of Sciences.

The guests will visit major museums and landmarks of Ashgabat and its vicinities.
