OREANDA-NEWS. August 29, 2011. A meeting with the management of Mobile TeleSystems was held at TATNEFT, which was attended by the management of Tatintek, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

The main points of implementing the agreement between TATNEFT and MTS to increase the network coverage were discussed in the course of the working meeting. Cooperation between TATNEFT and MTS is continuing in the framework of the agreement signed in April last year during the trilateral meeting between Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Shafagat Takhautdinov, General Director of TATNEFT and Michael Shamolin, President of MTS.

The cooperation of TATNEFT and MTS is directed to the active development of telematic services (M2M) in the region: use of the mobile operator SIM-cards for rapid exchange of information between remote sites of the oil production infrastructure, transmission of sensor readings from the process equipment, as well as locating the transport vehicles position.

Following the agreements achieved last year, within the framework of the planned activities, as of today construction of additional base stations and modernization and capacity expansion of the existing equipment have been carried out.

The meeting also reviewed the issues of communication quality. Among the measures aimed at the quality improvement in the area of TATNEFT Group of Companies activities, a decision was taken in the course of the meeting to jointly with the representatives of MTS perform monitoring of those sites and areas where there are problems with the cellular network. The issues related to improving fail safety level of the communications equipment and improving the customer servicing level shall be resolved jointly by MTS and Tatintek.
