OREANDA-NEWS. August 30, 2011. Over 30 enterprises of Moldova’s industrial sector are participating in the EBRD’s MoSEFF program aimed at reducing energy consumption. Thanks to the projects implemented, the MoSEFF program’s participants will cut energy consumption in the production process by 21-84%, the organization’s press service reported.

The total amount of credits provided under MoSEFF is 20 mln euros, with over 15 mln euros of them already drawn or being drawn at the moment. The money for re-equipment (from 25 thousand to 2 mln euros) are provided to enterprises of the private ownership form. Moldova-Agroindbank (MAIB), Moldindconbank (MICB) and the Chisinau department of the Commercial Bank of Romania (BCR) are the program’s partners.

5-20% of the project’s amount are provided to enterprises as grants. By now, the average amount of grants constituted up to 10% of the credit’s amount and the biggest project is being implemented at factories of the Orhei-Vit company in Orhei and Causeni, where the total volume of investments was 850 thousand euros.

The energy saving projects are also being implemented at the Covoare-Ungheni factory (the amount of investments – 378 thousand euros), Stejaur (141 thousand euros), Moldagrotehnica (150 thousand euros) and other enterprises. Private companies may apply for participation in the MoSEFF program till the end of 2011.
