OREANDA-NEWS. September 5, 2011. Freight One Company has begun to haul structural steel elements for construction projects related to the Universiade 2013 to be held in Kazan. Under an agreement with Tyumen-Region-based Tyumenstalmost, Freight One will provide multipurpose flatcars to haul structural steel elements to construction sites of the Universiade 2013. About 250 multipurpose flatcars of structural steel elements are to be hauled this year.

Freight One has set favorable freight transport rates for the Universiade 2013. The rate the company charges to haul structural steel elements from Tyumen to Kazan is 9% below the total cost of using state-owned wagons for the same purpose.

The company increased its transport of structural steel elements by 43.3% in January-June 2011. For comparison, the total transport of structural steel elements in the Russian Railways (RZD) network increased by 9.3% during the same period.
