OREANDA-NEWS. September 7, 2011. An online trade fair for enterprises, universities and research institutes was opened on Monday by relevant authorities in Anhui province to boost cooperation among those sectors and accelerate commercialization of research findings.

The provincial Economic and Information Technology Commission, Development and Reform Commission, Department of Education and Department of Science and Technology jointly launched the third week-long online integration of production, education and research on September 5.

Senior officials including Guo Wanqing, deputy director of the provincial Standing Committee of People's Congress, and Wang Heling, vice chairman of the provincial People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the opening ceremony at the Economic and Information Technology Commission.

The event is held at a special networking platform, where 2,200-strong research findings and over 260 wants of corporations have been collected for the purpose of partnering between educational and scientific institutes and enterprises.

A variety of matchmaking activities will be carried out during the event, covering the automobile sector, the manufacturing sector, the steel industry, the nonferrous metal sector, textiles, the light industry, the petrochemical industry, information technology and strategic emerging industries, according to the provincial Economic and Information Technology Commission.

More than 60 educational and research institutes were invited to the event, including Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China and Hefei Institutes of Physical Science under Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Australian Deakin University as well as a Japanese trade association and a Russian new material company also attended the online fair.
