OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2011. Over 15 thousand taxpayers of Moldova that are the VAT payers will be submitting tax returns by Internet starting from January 1, 2012. The head of the Chief State Tax Inspection Nicolai Platon said at the news conference that it is provided for by the “Electronic Declaration” service launched by the Chief Stat Tax Inspection (CSTI).

It implies that starting from the next year, VAT taxpayers will be obliged to submit tax reports only electronically. The service will be obligatory and free of charge for VAT payers. If the legislation isn’t observed, companies will be subject to fines or even excluded from the VAT payer category. On the first stage, tax reports with the obligatory use of automated electronic accounting methods within the “Electronic declaration” service will be accepted starting from January 1, 2012 from the VAT subjects, served by the big taxpayers department of the CSTI, State Tax Inspection of the Chisinau Municipality, State Tax Inspection of the Balti Municipality, Comrat department of the State Tax Inspection for Gagauzia.

On the second stage, about 10 thousand taxpayers from all over the country will be connected to the “Electronic declaration” service starting from January 1, 2013. It is planned that thanks to the more operative information processing, facilitation of the tax accounts procedure and exclusion of the human factor, implementation of the electronic tax accounts will enable to optimize tax administration. Introduction of this service will also allow saving taxpayers’ time and money and optimizing the CSTI’s costs.

The electronic tax accounts is a pilot project worth 4 mln leis funded from the state budget and budget of the state-owned enterprises Fiscservinform, with USAID/BITZAR support. The CSTI urged responsible persons of the taxation subjects to come during September-December 2011 to sign the Contract on free connection to the Electronic Declaration service and to receive free identification electronic signature. The information about the date, place and list of documents necessary for getting the signature will be provided to taxpayers by territorial state tax inspections, serving them.
