OREANDA-NEWS. September 9, 2011. At Bushehr NPP (the Islamic Republic of Iran), which is built by Atomstroyexport, a company of ROSATOM, has synchronized and connected to the grid the generator at 65 MW power. First kilowatts of electricity generated by Bushehr NPP entered Iranian national power grid.

These works are carried out in the framework of the stage-by-stage first power and power build-up to 100% program of the NPP.

During construction of nuclear facilities, safety issues always remain a top priority; therefore, all procedures and tests that precede Bushehr NPP commissioning are followed and carried out thoroughly with all necessary requirements being met.

Construction of Bushehr NPP is fully compliant with existing international norms, law, and nonproliferation regime and is carried out under oversight by the IAEA. In August 2011 a delegation of the IAEA visited nuclear facilities of Iran, including the nuclear power plant being built by Atomstroyexport, by an invitation from the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Construction of Bushehr NPP is an unprecedented project which has no analogues in the world. In the course of its implementation, the Russia-designed process equipment has been integrated in building structures designed by Germany; the Russian organizations designed, produced and supplied new equipment, which had not been previously produced in Russia, to the site.
