OREANDA-NEWS. September 9, 2011. The VII International Conference on Isotopes organized by ROSATOM, the Russian Academy of Sciences and Isotope today finished its work. In Moscow, largest representatives of the world isotope industry, more than 60 leading scientists and leaders of business community from 38 world countries were discussing topical issues of isotope production and application in various areas of economy.

At the conference it was stated, nuclear medicine is becoming an ever more definite priority of ROSATOM. The state corporation’s strategic goal is to make products with a greater added value. “We must have not only isotopes and radiopharmaceuticals; we must have production lines of medical equipment and, ideally, render medical services of diagnostics and treatment of cardio-vascular and cancer diseases,” General Director of ROSATOM Sergey Kirienko said.

The conference was paralleled with an exhibition which displayed developments in the areas of isotope production.
The next conference will be held in Chicago (USA).
