OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2011. The Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) Igor Artemyev had a meeting with the World Bank Country Director for Russia, Pedro Alba, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia. 

The meeting focused on the public procurement reform in the Russian Federation. Since 2006 FAS has organised numerous workshops and Round Tables on public procurement, learning from the best global practices and sharing its achievements in the field.

Igor Artemyev expressed FAS interest in developing bilateral cooperation in the field of public procurement in view of enormous international experience accumulated by the World Bank. In his turn, Mr. Alba emphasised that the World Bank is prepared to assist in familiarising FAS experts with the best international practices in public procurement. The Head of FAS also invited Pedro Alba to observe the work of Russian electronic sites.

During many years FAS Russia has been engaged in cooperation with the World Bank Office in Moscow as part of the programmes for technical assistance for state administration reforms in the Russian Federation, particularly for combating corruption and facilitating the administrative reform. Public procurement is a new direction of cooperation between FAS Russia and the World Bank.
