OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2011. On the 13th of September this year, within the framework of the 7 Baikal Economic Forum, JSC  Irkutskenergo and Voith Hydro GmbH&Co. KG (Sankt Polten, Austria) signed a contract for replacement of another six turbine rotors of Bratsk HPP. The delivery of the first turbine rotor is scheduled for September 2013. The time of delivery of the sixth one is March 2016. At the end of the year 2010, the installation of the previous six new turbine rotors of Bratsk HPP, which began in 2006, was completed (the manufacturer was JSC  Power Machines). The replacement of turbine rotors allowed to raise the performance of the turbines up to 95.3%. Also, due to the project implementation, the Company became a winner of the first contest of joint projects held in 2010 within the framework of the Kyoto Protocol.

Yevgeny Fyodorov, general manager of JSC  EuroSibEnergo and JSC  Irkutskenergo: “JSC  EuroSibEnergo pays great attention to the issues of effective modernization. Therefore, in order to raise economic efficiency of the equipment and to improve reliability and security of the plants, we made a decision to replace another six turbine rotors of Bratsk HPP. Moreover, by now, 10 of the 12 water-powered generators of Krasnoyarsk HPP have been fully upgraded, and Ust-Ilimsk and Irkutsk HPPs are undergoing the scheduled upgrading of the equipment”.
