OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2011. Through its corporate responsibility program “Together for each and everyone”, The Rompetrol Group sustained the solar panels endowment of the kindergarten inside the SOS Children’s Village Bucharest . The total amount of the financial support offered by the company was 12,000 Euro.

5 solar panels built-up with the help of Rompetrol employees, within the educational workshops organized by ViitorPlus Association, will facilitate the warming of domestic water used in the kindergarten from SOS Children’s Village Bucharest and in one of the familial houses of the village. The beneficiaries of this project will be the 70 children enlisted in the kindergarten and the 8 inhabitants of the familial house.

The environment project called “The sun rises for children, too!” is one of the 20 CSR projects declared winners in 2011 and it was developed between august 2010 – September 2011.

It is estimated that a plane solar panel, like that constructed through the ViitorPlus project, will realize a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions of approximate 700 kg/year, respectively 1.91 kg/day. By utilizing the installed solar systems a reduction of 1,6 tones of carbon dioxide will be realized during a year. The solar collectors manufactured by ViitorPlus volunteers have a average life of 10 years.
