OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2011. Anhui issued a Development Planning for Forest Tourism recently, aiming to set up four sightseeing sections, 12 destinations, and 8 characteristic foreign tourist lines.

The idea  is on the premise of environment protection, forming a unique tourism area, which relies on natural resources covering mountains, waters, streams, wetlands, wild animals and birds, blends with Hui culture, local artistic treasures in history, literature, operas and ect.

Total 54 forest parks were approved to be built in Anhui, including Tianzhu Moutain, Langya Mountain and Paradise Village, among which, 42 have visitor-receiving capacity, alongside with other qualified destinations such as wetland parks, tree farms, and botanical gardens.

Hefei, capital city of Anhui, together with Ma'anshan, Wuhu, Tongling, Chuzhou, and counties of Anqing along Yangtze river are included in the section of urban forest sightseeing area between Huaihe and Yangtze River, with development focus on vacation resorts, conference centers and outward bound.

The other three sections are located in in southern, western and northern Anhui.

The forest tourism revenue in 2010 reached 4.46 billion yuan, with received tourists 9.5 million, while revenue in 2020 is planned to be raised to 12 billion yuan, with received tourists 58 million.
