OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2011. Stats-Secretary Andrey Tsarikovsky, Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), had bilateral negotiations with Alberto Nahmijas Vice-General Secretary, Chief Economist of Italy’s Competition Authority, in course of “Competition Day” in Rostov-on-Don, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The parties emphasised efficiency of bilateral cooperation between the two authorities on the issues of competition policy and law within the framework of international organisations (International Competition Network, Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development, etc.) as well as joint events.

In Rostov-on-Don, Alberto Nahmijas made a presentation at the workshop “Ensuring Competitive Conditions on the Pharmaceutical Market” about “Unfair Actions on Pharmaceutical Market – the Italian Experience”.

The parties discussed the prospects of developing Russian – Italian cooperation in the field of competition policy. In particular, FAS expressed its readiness to move to practical cooperation between competition authorities of both countries by conducting joint investigations of violations of the competition law, as well as investigating transactions on cross-border markets.
