OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2011. Industrial enterprises of the Chisinau municipality produced goods worth 7,759.5 mln leis in the first half of 2011, providing 53.8 percent of the overall industrial output of the country. In comparison with the same period last year, the industrial output (in currency prices) of Chisinau’s enterprises increased by 12.9 percent, according to the National Statistics Office.

About 90% of production has been sold since the beginning of the year and incomes from sales of Chisinau industrial enterprises grew 15.6 percent against January-June 2010, to 15,846.5 mln leis. About 34.2% of industrial production in Chisinau were provided by private enterprises, 23.1% - enterprises with mixed capital (private and state), 18.4% - state enterprises, 13.7% - joint enterprises; 10.6% - enterprises with foreign capital.

Manufacturing enterprises produced the biggest volume of production, in the amount of 5,926.7 mln leis; enterprises producing gas, heat- and electric energy and water-supplying enterprises – 1,788.8 mln leis. Production of fermented tobacco in Chisinau municipality increased 2.3 times in the first half of 2011 in comparison with the same period last year, to 5,146.2 mln tone s, working cloths – by 89.15%, to 1,304 mln units; milk and cultured milk foods with the fat level less than 6% - by 24.6%, to 9,029.9 thousand liters.

Production of goods made of plastic reduced by 69.8 percent, to 33 tones; books and other printing production – by 55.9%, to 1,687.8 thousand units; goods made of cardboard – by 40%, to 208.2 mln square meters.
