OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2011. US stocks rose on Tuesday with Industrials (+1.2%), Basic Materials (+1.31%) as the leaders. S&P 500 index added 0.91%, Russell 2000 Index – 1.76%. VIX declined by 4.35% to 36.9. EURUSD found resistance at 1.374 and went down during the Asian session as Premier Wen declined any speculations on Euro-zone bailout by China.

Asian markets mostly fell on Wednesday. Nikkei lost 1.19%. S&P/ASX was down by 1.67%. Korean Kospi slumped by 3.71%. Hang Seng was down by 1.87%. Shanghai stock indices were down on average by 1%.

The European stock indices futures fell in the morning - Dow Jones Stoxx 50 futures was down by 0.3% while Dax futures lost 0.35%. S&P futures lost 0.6%.

The Euro-zone Industrial Confidence, due at 09:00 GMT and US PPI and Advanced retail sales will be in focus today.
