OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2011. 16 teams representing the Company’s divisions and subsidiaries will take part in Uralkali’s Olympics in 2011–2012. It is expected that over 2.5 thousand employees will participate in the sports event. The competition will feature 12 sports — volleyball, basketball, swimming, kettle bell lifting, indoor soccer, table tennis, cross-country skiing race (individual and team championship), ski relay race (individual and team championship), chess, athletics, and futsal.

Since the divisions and subsidiaries of Uralkali are now located in two towns — Berezniki and Solikamsk the Corporate Olympics will be held in two stages. At the first stage athletes from the divisions located in each town will compete in all sports separately in Berezniki and Solikamsk. At the second stage the best teams in each discipline will compete against each other in super finals. The winner in the Olympics will be pronounced the team taking first more than others in the super finals.

Winning teams and athletes taking prize-winning places will be rewarded with cash bonuses, diplomas and trophies. The Olympics will be summed up in June 2012.

Uralkali Company traditionally pays careful attention to sports development amongst its employees. Thus, the Spartakiad among the divisions has been held for 30 years already.

Many participants of the Corporate Olympics show excellent results at municipal, regional and international competitions. For example, Oleg Babin, a repairman at Solikamsk Mine-3, is a Candidate for Master of Sports (CMS) in kettle bell lifting, Anton Spirenkov, a coach at Kaliets House of Sports, is a Master of Sports in athletics. Lesya Yukhimets, a conveyor operator at Berezniki Mine-2 is a Candidate for Master of Sports in athletics, and Sergei Krestyaninov, an International Master of Sports in athletics, is an employee of LLC  SMT BShSU.

Over 30 Masters of Sports and Candidates for Master of Sports are employees of the Company.
