OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2011. Anhui bagged 1.85 billion yuan in tourism revenue during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival, a year-on-year surge of 130 percent, with total received tourists hitting 6.58 million, rising by 81.8 percent year-on-year.

The holiday travel drove hotel industry, as some star-level hotels achieved over 90 percent of occupancy rate, and visitors spending nights in tourist spots stood at 1.52 million, up 45.2 percent. Short-distance travel was option for most visitors, with self-driving, countryside and ecological tours taking large share.

Hefei, Huangshan and Ma'anshan were top three cities receiving over 500,000 visitors this year.
