In the context of the latest developments – the attempts to misappropriate few banks of Moldova – the parties discussed the necessity of improving the country’s legislation in terms of property rights protection. Libor Krkoska highly appreciated the authorities’ prompt reaction to prevent the attacks on the banks, however, in his opinion, there are still shortcomings in the Moldovan legislation in terms of corporate relations and property rights protection.

On behalf of the EBRD, he strongly recommended by Economy Ministry to undertake the coordinating role in the process of elaboration of new legal norms in this field and said the EBRD is ready to provide technical assistance. The EBRD representatives also proposed to carry out a “round table” with all interested parties participating, to identify shortcomings and to find legislative solutions in the property rights protection.
