OREANDA-NEWS. September 19, 2011. Crocus Nano Electronics (CNE), which is establishing a Russia-based magnetoresistive memory (MRAM) manufacturing capability, has named Boris Omarov to its top post, CEO. The new company is a joint undertaking between RUSNANO and Crocus Technology, a French company.

With more than 25 years experience in the electronics industry, Mr. Omarov has worked for 16 years in leading Western companies specializing in developing and manufacturing of electronic components. Before joining CNE, he was senior director for marketing and sales in Russia and the CIS at OSRAM, the largest global producers of LED products.

Mr. Omarov earned his PhD in 1987 at Moscow State Institute of Electronic Equipment (MIET), his research specializing in the reliability of MOS-devices (MOS: metal oxide semiconductors are a type of structure of elements for electronic devices). He earned an MBA from California State University at Hayward in 1999.
