OREANDA-NEWS. September 21, 2011. China recorded a two percent year-on-year fall in domestic crude oil output in August to 16.9 million tons, according to the National Development and Reform Commission.

For the first eight months, domestic crude oil output increased 2.6 percent year-on-year to 135.79 million tons.

Crude oil imports in August rose 10.4 percent year-on-year to 21.03 million tons, while imports in the first eight months increased 8.7 percent to 167.67 million tons.

The volume of processed crude oil rose 3.3 percent year-on-year to 33.63 million tons in August, while production of refined oil was up 3.6 percent to 20.87 million tons.

During the first eight months, the volume of crude oil processed rose 5.5 percent, while refined oil production increased 5.8 percent.

The apparent consumption of refined oil in August increased 2.2 percent year-on-year to 19.43 million tons, of which gasoline consumption was up 4.6 percent, and diesel consumption increased 1.2 percent.

The apparent consumption of refined oil during the first eight months increased 6.1 percent year-on-year to 159.87 million tons.

The domestic inventory of refined oil as of end August was up by 1.64 million tons year-on-year.
