OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2011. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Republic of Buryatia (Buryatia OFAS Russia) imposed a “turnover” fine upon “Buryatnefteproduct” OJSC (875,000 RUB) for creating discriminatory conditions regarding independent petrol filling stations, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The “turnover” fine is applied after “Buryatnefteproduct” OJSC admitted violating the antimonopoly law. In July 2011 Buryatia OFAS Russia found that the company violated Clause 8 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. – by creating discriminatory conditions for economic entities on retail markets of motor petrol and diesel fuel, particularly, within the boundaries of Severobaikalsk.

“Buryatia OFAS Russia initiated the antimonopoly case against Buryatnefteproduct” OJSC in May 2011 upon petitions from owners of independent petrol filling stations about restrictions of small wholesale sales of oil products”, explained Deputy Head of Buryatia OFAS Russia, Ms. Darima Gomboeva.

On 19th August 2011, the Head of FAS Igor Artemyev held a meeting with representatives of independent petrol filling stations. Based on its results, the antimonopoly authority devised an Action Plan to protect the rights of small wholesale and retail sellers of oil products from unlawful actions of vertically –integrated oil companies.
