OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2011. The EBRD Board of Directors will examine the loan provision issue at its meeting no November 22, it was informed in the resident office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

This Chisinau road infrastructure development project consists of two components. The first one provides for the capital repairs of streets, modernization of roads and sidewalks, construction of new pedestrian areas and creation of new parking lots. The second component of the project stipulates reconstruction of the street lightening system, replacement of lamps by energy saving ones. It is expected to save budget resources for the city.

The total cost of the project is 22.9 mln euros. It is planned to be financed by the European Investment Bank, and the Chisinau municipality’s contribution will total 6 mln euros for modernizing the water-supply and heating systems on the selected streets.

It was said earlier at the meeting of the capital city’s Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca with the EBRD delegation headed by the EBRD Country Director for Moldova, Caucasus and Belarus Paul-Henry Forester that the new project would stipulate modernization of 10 selected streets of Chisinau.
