OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2011. The Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko has invited the European Union energy ministers at a conference on the modernization of the Ukrainian gas transport system which would be held in Kyiv, September 29, 2011.

Such a proposal was made by Yuriy Boyko at the informal Council of European Ministers on Energy in Wroclaw (Poland).

"I represent the country which is one of the largest transit in Europe: through Ukraine passes almost 100 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia to Europe, therefore the situation with our transport system is important both for buyers and gas consumers, and for all countries presented here. Taking an opportunity, I invite all of you to a conference on the modernization of our transport system which will take place in Ukraine on September, 29th, during which we will be ready to present you the future of our energy policy," Yuriy Boyko has told.

At the same time the Minister has noted importance of meeting of Ministers and the European Commission's position clear on discussed issues.

Recall that at a conference on the modernization of Ukraine's gas transport system, which will be held in Kyiv, September 29, 2011, will attend the Commissioner for Energy European Commission Guenther Oettinger.
