OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2011. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) imposed administrative fines upon “SUEK” OJSC - 485 million Rubles and “Russky Ugol” OJSC - 66 million Rubles for cartel on coal market, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Earlier FAS investigated an antimonopoly case and found that “SUEK” OJSC, “Russky Ugol” OJSC and “Stroiservice” CJSC violated Clauses 1 and 3 Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. The companies engaged in competition-restricting agreements on the coal market aimed at fixing coal price and dividing the market of power generating cola according to the categories of sellers.

The fines are imposed upon establishing the fact of violating the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. The administrative case against “Stroiservice” CJSC will be considered next week.
