OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2011. At Campus of Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO an annual meeting of the Russian-Japanese advisory council on modernization of Russian economy took place. Among the participants there were assistant to the president of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Japan to the Russian Federation Chikahito Harada and representatives of Russian and Japan largest companies.

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere. At the end of it Chikahito Harada highlighted the fact that the course on the cooperation between Russia and Japan in modernization sphere of Russian economy even after the change of Japanese cabinet of ministers will stay unchanged. Arkady Dvorkovich in turn mentioned, that during the council meeting the participants managed to discuss specific projects concerning priority directions of modernization of Russian economy. Dvorkovich meant projects, concerning renewable sources of energy, projects on energy efficiency, telecommunication, space, the ones, concerning deep processing of raw materials, and the ones in the fields of medicine and pharmacy.

“Deep potential in different spheres” exists between Russia and Japan, said Harada. These words of the ambassador were proved by deeds: right after the meeting the joint venture agreement was signed between OJSC Power Machines and Toshiba Corporation.

“And a lot is still lies ahead”, - said Harada at the end of the meeting.
