OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2011. SCM, Metinvest and DTEK were shortlisted in Top 5 of Ukraine Companies' Transparency and Accountability Index 2011,  launched as part of the UNITER (Ukraine National Initiatives to Enhance Reforms) project funded by USAID and implemented by Pact with support of ESG. The Index covers 100 biggest businesses of Ukraine and internationally listed companies. SCM leads the category "Holding Companies" (59.5%), Metinvest takes the first place in the sector "Heavy Industry" (63%), DTEK wins in the sector (Electric power) (80%) and First Ukrainian International Bank heads the category "Finance" (19.5%).

The Index results from an analysis of webpages of the involved companies by a wide range of criteria from availability of information about CSR policies and approaches to detailed profiles of implemented social and environmental programmes.

"SCM is committed to being an open and transparent business. We recognize that as a leading business group in Ukraine stakeholders of all types want to understand what we do, where we operate and our values. To meet the expectations of our stakeholders and to comply with international business standards we regularly update them about our financial and social performance and publish independently audited annual reports. The fact that SCM and three businesses from the SCM Group lead their industries by transparency and accountability is another confirmation of the right choice we have made – to do business openly," commented Jock Mendoza-Wilson, SCM Director of International and Investor Relations, on the index.
