OREANDA-NEWS. September 29, 2011. At the 2nd BRICS International Competition Conference in Beijing the Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Igor Artemyev, and the President of the Administrative Council for Economic Defence (CADE), Fernando Furlan, had a bilateral meeting, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Heads of competition authorities discussed the current issues of cooperation and the prospects of practical measures of antimonopoly enforcement and development of competition environment.

The parties agreed to enhance cooperation ion the field of public procurement by electronic auctions and announced specific steps with regard to the proposed arrangements. In particular, the parties agreed about FAS visiting Brazil’s competition authority.

Overall, Igor Artemyev and Fernando Furlan expressed their intentions to further actively develop bilateral cooperation in the field of competition policy, particularly within BRICS framework.

As a result of the meeting, the parties signed 2021-2013 Cooperation Programme between FAS Russia and the Administrative Council for Economic Defence (CADE), the Secretariat of Economic Law (SDE) of the Ministry of Justice and the Secretariat for Economic Monitoring (SEAE) of the Ministry of Finance, of the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
