OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2011. The Federal Antimonopoly Service is considering a petition of Microsoft International Holdings B.V. (location: Telestone 8 – Teleport, Naritaweg 165, 1043 BW Amsterdam, the Netherlands; main activities: holding activities) on acquiring the rights that allow determining the conditions of entrepreneurial activities of “QUIK RU” Ltd. (location: 4, Savelkinsky proezd, office 2313, Zelenograd, Moscow, 124482, main activities: software development) and Skype Communications Sarl (location: 23-29 Rives de Clausen, L-2165 Luxembоurg (main activities: providing software for Internet communications) (hereinafter - petition), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Investigating the petition, FAS established that the transaction can restrict competition.

To objectively assess possible effect of the petitioned transaction upon the market of audio-visual communications and the market of development and providing software for Internet communications, FAS needs to analyse the state of competition on these markets.

Governed by Clause 2 Part 2 Article 33 of No.135-FZ Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” of 26th July 2006, The Federal Antimonopoly Service has extended the period for considering the petition until 2nd December 2011.
