OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2011. In September, the farms of Razgulay Group continue harvesting rice, and oilseeds. Rice, which is one of the strategically important crops for the agricultural holding, has been harvested by more than 50% of area, reported the press-centre of Razgulay Group.

The total area planted this year was more than 18 thousand hectares, situated in Krasnodar Region. It is expected that the average yield will exceed last year's rate of 6.4 tons / ha and, according to preliminary estimates, the harvest will be about 120 thousand tons of rice, against 113 tons in 2010.

In 2011, the area under oilseed crops was significantly increased: for example, over 70 thousand hectares were planted with soybeans, flax and sunflower, against 47 thousand hectares last year. Today the flax has been harvested by 46%, soybeans – by 41%, sunflower – by 4%. Razgulay farms with significant plantings of oilseeds are located in Rostov, Belgorod and Kursk regions, as well as in the Republic of Bashkortostan.

"The expansion of oilseeds plantings happened due to its high marginality, - said Alexey Demyanenko, Director of Agro-Directorate of Razgulay Group. - Now, owing to acceptable weather conditions for most of the territories, we can keep harvesting according to planned dates ".
