OREANDA-NEWS. October 03, 2011. Witnessed by Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC) Wu Bangguo and First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Umirzak Shukeyev, CNPC and KazMunaiGas signed an agreement on basic principles regarding the design, financing, construction and operation of Line C of Kazakhstan-China Gas Pipeline. CNPC President Jiang Jiemin and KazMunaiGas President Kairgeldy Kabyldin signed the agreement.?

Earlier in the day, Jiang Jiemin met with Kairgeldy Kabyldin and Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev respectively, to discuss about related issues in the oil and gas cooperation between the two countries.

Kazakhstan-China Gas Pipeline refers to a majority of the Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline that is in the border of Kazakhstan. On September 21, CNPC and Uzbekneftegaz signed an agreement on construction and operation of Line C of the Uzbekistan section. Line C of the Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline is expected to kick off at the beginning of 2012, and start to supply gas in January, 2014.
