OREANDA-NEWS. October 04, 2011. That night first batch of animals arrived to pig breeding complex of “Titan-Agro”, one of the objects of agro-industrial biocluster of the project PARK: Industrial-Agricultural Regional Clusters (the head of the project is deputy of State Duma Mikhail Sutyaginsky), reported the press-centre of Titan.

The trip along the route Ireland-Omsk was made by articulated lorry consisting of 5 cattle cars. The route of the articulated lorry ran through France, Germany, Poland and Belarus. In Russia it ran through Smolensk, Moscow, Penza, Samara, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan and Ishim.

The animals were delivered in special-purpose  transport for the shipping of pigs (three-decker cattle truck equipped with feedboxes and drinking troughs). Facilities of the cattle truck allow making reserve of fodder and water for a long period of time. The animals were transported on soft litter. The change of the litter and cleaning of manure was conducted on the territory of Germany. Examination and care of the animals was performed by specially trained personnel of drivers who have necessary license in accordance with requirements of European Union.

Unloading took 4 hours. The pigs were “settled” in hog farm and pedigree farm. After the arrival the animals were placed under quarantine which will take 30 days. During this time the animals will undergo a complex of diagnostic examinations regulated by veterinary legislation.

Let us mention that the most popular strains of piglets were selected for the pig breeding complex - Landras, Dyurok and Large White (Hermitage company). The object is built with the application of modern cattle-breeding equipment of Big Dutchman company. As yet the fodder for pigs is purchased from a Chelyabinsk company. Starting from the next year the fodder will be supplied by Omsk provender mill which is a neighbor by agrocluster. After reaching slaughter weight the animals will be shipped to meat packing plant which is also provided in the structure of biocluster (it is planned to build 1st start-up complex of the meat packing plant before March 2012).
