OREANDA-NEWS. October 4, 2011. Receives two Gold and one Silver award at Chapter Convention Quality Circle

Jojobera:Tata Power, India’s largest integrated private power utility, at the recently-concluded Chapter Convention Quality Circle (CCQC) 2011 was recognised for the efforts of its Quality Control teams which won 2 Gold and 1 Silver award for their excellent problem-solving capabilities and contribution towards the quality initiatives at Jojobera thermal power station.

Teams Achievers (MMD) and Prerna (CHP) were bestowed with a Gold award each, whereas Team Black Diamond was honoured with a silver. The Jojobera teams have continued their successful run at the CCQC level ever since they started participating ie 2003 and have maintained the winning position at CCQC.

This year the prominent participants at the CCQC were companies such as Durgapur Steel Plant, NTPC Singhrouli, Bokaro Steel Plant, BSP Bhilai, Hindalco, Nalco, Tata Projects, Tata Steel Exide, SAIL, Videocon, The Tinplate Company of India, that showcased their QC process and the systems implementation undertaken by them. CCQC not only provides a platform to the teams to showcase their ability to deal with problems by using quality control tools but also grants an opportunity to be a part of many fun-filled activities, namely knowledge tests, poster’“making contests and essay contests. Quality teams are assessed based on the presentations and quality circle notebooks.

Tata Power has received domestic as well as international recognition for its quality movement. The procedures and methodologies deployed at the Jojobera generation facility are in continuation with Tata Power’s concerted efforts towards total quality assurance.
