OREANDA-NEWS. October 05, 2011. A delegation of Japan Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Consultants Association (JSMECA) led by its director Yakuyuki Koyde paid visit to Uzbekistan to further boost trade-economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.

The press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan said that the visit of JSMECA is aimed at providing consulting services to small and medium businesses in all areas of economy.

The delegation included heads and representatives of 39 Japanese companies, operating in such sectors as ICT, business planning, HR management, logistics and distribution management, food industry, etc.

Within the visit the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan organized roundtable dedicated to conditions for developing SME in Uzbekistan and Japan, role of the Chamber and JSMECA in the sector and others.

In January-April 2011, trade turnover between two countries made up US.9 million, of which US.6 million fell to Uzbekistan’s exports and US.3 million to imports.

Currently, ten enterprises with Japanese capital operate n Uzbekistan and one of them is with 100% Japanese capital. The enterprises operate in trade operations, transport, tourism, healthcare, machinery, light industry. Some 14 Japanese companies accredited their offices in Uzbekistan.
