OREANDA-NEWS. October 6, 2011. Due to program implementation of developing small-scale power generation which was launched in 2001, the Company put into operation 18 gas turbine power plants (GTPP) at the oilfields of Eastern and Western Siberia, with total power capacity of 595.5 mW. In-house generating capacities at all gas turbine power plants have produced over 16 bn kWh of electricity for the whole operating period.

At year-end 2010, after the commissioning of a new GTPP at the Severo-Labatyuganskoye field, the total generating capacity of all gas turbine power plants is projected to reach 631.5 mW – it is practically a half of the Company’s total energy demand.

In the end of 2012, OJSC "Surgutneftegas" plans to put into operation 21 gas turbin power plants including two new ones at the Vachimskoye and Vostochno–Surgutskoye fields with total capacity of 72 mW.

The Company’s Division of Intra-field Gathering and Utilization of Petroleum Gas is engaged in the maintenance of the gas turbine power plants. The largest Company’s GTPP with power capacity of 144 mW provides with the electricity the oil-transfer stations of ESPO pipeline in addition to the Company’s fields in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
